About the Church

Leeming Methodist Church is a Gothic Victorian masterpiece, converted into a magnificent home.

Featuring in TV’s ‘Caroline Quentin’s Derelict Rescue’, as seen on Discovery, HGTV and Amazon Prime, this historic home is rich in decadence and beauty, offering endless spectacular features.

The Church was opened in 1903 replacing the former Methodist Chapel and offering more space for it's growing congregation. The Church is located by the old Great Northern Road, the old main road from London to Edinburgh, although it is much quieter nowadays!

The Church stayed in operation throughout the Second World War, offering a place of solace and worship to RAF personnel stationed nearby, along with their families and loved ones.

The Church was maintained and stewarded by its Methodist congregation, loyally and lovingly until 2019. Due to a dwindling attendance, and the proximity of another Methodist Church in Bedale, the church closed to the public.

The church re-opened in January 2023 as a luxury 5 star holiday home. With the funds being used to maintain, preserve and protect the buildings legacy and future alike.

We are the conservator owners of the church. We are both profoundly passionate in honouring the church's history and protecting this British heritage building for future generations”
